He is the chairperson, CEO and the largest shareholder of a multinational conglomerate holding company Berkshire Hathaway, headquartered in Omaha. His father was a four-term U.S. congressional representative. Before shifting to Alice Deal Junior High School, he started his education at the Rose Hill Elementary School. In 1947, he graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School. He used to earn money as a small child by selling chewing gum and soft drinks. He became involved in a number of moneymaking ventures as a teenager and also started saving and investing his money. Buffett wanted to skip college after finishing high school. He found success with his side entrepreneurial and investment ventures and wanted to go directly into business but was overruled by his father. From 1951 to 1954 as an investment sales representative, he worked at his father’s company, Buffett-Falk & Co. In 1950, he had amassed savings worth almost $10,000 by the age of 20. In 1954, at Benjamin Graham’s partnership, he was appointed at a starting salary of $12,000 a year. His boss was a difficult man to work with. In 1956, Benjamin Graham retired and closed his partnership. At that time, with his large amount of personal savings he opened Buffett Partnership Ltd., an investment partnership in Omaha. He started operating several other partnerships. While operating seven partnerships, in 1962 he became a millionaire as a result of his earnings from all his partnerships. Merging all the partnerships into single one, he started to invest in a textile-manufacturing firm, which was named Berkshire Hathaway. During the early 1960s, he started to buy the shares of Berkshire Hathaway until he took over the control of the company.
